Participants should consult a physician prior to beginning any activity program, including yoga. Participants must listen to their body and not perform any postures to the extent of strain or pain. Yoga is not a substitute for medical attention, examination, diagnosis, or treatment. It is the participants responsibility to notify their teacher of any serious illness or injury before every yoga class.
Reiki is a simple and gentle, light touch, energy-based modality that used for stress reduction and relaxation. Reiki practitioners do not diagnose conditions nor do they prescribe or perform medical treatment, prescribe substances, nor interfere with the treatment of a licensed medical professional. Reiki does not take the place of medical care. It is recommended that one see a licensed physician or licensed healthcare professional for any physical or psychological ailment they may have.
Meditation is generally considered a safe activity, especially at the beginning levels. At these levels, it is mainly an exercise in relaxation and concentration. If you feel you might be uncomfortable engaging in this kind of self-examination, then I ask that you do not proceed beyond the beginning level until you feel secure and comfortable with proceeding further.
